Feature Update: Effortless Coordination with Team Management

Feature Update: Effortless Coordination with Team Management

Most parish music coordinators spend the majority of their time buried in the thankless task of, well… coordinating all of the moving parts of their liturgy and music program. All of the people, music scores, music licenses, schedules, liturgies, and more need to be managed and coordinated day by day and week by week throughout the year. For most of us, this is a highly manual and seemingly never-ending task.

With the Source & Summit Digital Platform—first released in 2020 and ever-expanding with new, paradigm shifting features ever since—this process is getting easier, more streamlined, and automated by the day. The tangible value of Source & Summit is not only in the amount of time, hassle, and frustration that it saves parish music programs, but also in the opportunity that it helps create for music directors and coordinators to spend their time actually building and training choirs, singing, practicing, conducting, and teaching, rather than constantly coordinating and managing every moving part of their program.

We are excited to share a new and expanded feature set that will, yet again, change the way you manage your music program and help you focus more on music and the liturgy, and less on coordinating it:

Introducing Team Management.

Coordinate Your Music Program

On the newly designed Source & Summit Dashboard, you will now find three quick navigation links in the left panel: Home (where you access all of your Ordos), Templates (where you can automate your preparation process), and Team, where you can manage your account Administrators, Editors, your Choir Members, and your Groups.

Updated Dashboard

To access Team Management tools, click on Team. Here, you can add and manage your account Admins, Editors, People, and Groups.

Team Management

On a Standard Plan, you can have up to five Admins or Editors, and as many People and Groups as you'd like. People can be added quickly and edited and managed easily. People can be added to groups, and Ordos can be shared with either People or Groups.

After you have set up your team, you can create or open an Ordo and click Share to share it with anyone on your team.‍

Share with People and Groups

All team and group members that you shared the Ordo with will receive an email with a link to the Ordo which they view in a browser, or on a mobile or tablet device.

They can then view music and readings and listen to and learn their parts with dynamic MIDI playback.

View music and listen to parts

Each team member can also view the Ordo by their Role and see the all of the content optimized and formatted for their need with one click. They can also download individual scores, or an entire music packet ready for print or use on a tablet device with a single click.

Share with Your Music Program or Your Congregation

The Share feature in Source & Summit allows you either to share Ordos with your music and liturgy personnel, or with your congregation. USCCB regulations currently allow for the use of mobile devices in the pews as participation aids, however it is not licit to use them for the proclamation of the Word of God from the ambo by a lector.

To share optimized Ordos with your congregation, click Share and then select Share with my Parish.

‍Share with your congregation

You can then copy a custom link to your Ordo and share it in any way that you like: In an email, Flocknote, on your website, or even in a custom QR code that parishioners can scan to view the music and readings for the day.

Shared Ordos for your congregation are optimized for visual clarity and excellent performance, ensuring a superior experience for your parishioners.

What’s Next?

Several other exciting features are on the way in the coming weeks that we cannot wait to share with you. Our next feature release will include:

  • Devotional Prayer sections with access to a rich library of Catholic prayers that you can add to Ordos and booklets

  • Choral and Instrumental Music Sections, allowing you to upload your digital choral and instrumental music libraries and add selections from them to any Ordo

  • Blank Ordos, allowing for a custom Ordo to be created; especially useful for devotional prayer events and for services like Nine Lessons and Carols

  • Ad libitum sections, allowing you to add any antiphon to any liturgy

  • Updated “Add Item to Outline” dropdown with hierarchical structure

  • And more…
